Hello, I am the Utah Golf Guy…

The Utah Golf Guy

Hello, I am the Utah Golf Guy. As the name suggests, I love EVERYTHING about golf! Hobby? Check. Stress reliever? Check. Addiction? Double check. In fact…

If money, time and weather were non-factors, I would honesty be golfing all-day, every day. As of right now, I am unable to control these factors so I have to be smart and calculating about my golf schedule (and my wallet). But, I can dream…

Utah

I moved to Utah about 10 years ago (I still can’t believe it)! The variety and beauty of this state is different than any place I have ever lived (which includes 15 states and Brazil). The towering mountains, breathtaking trails and five national parks create paradise for those who enjoy the great outdoors. You haven’t seen beauty until your eyes behold the snowcapped mountains of the 80 different mountain ranges throughout the state. Snow isn’t your thing? Head down south where you can enjoy 50 degree weather in the middle of January surrounded by red rocks and the natural arches of Moab or St. George. Utah truly has something for everyone.

Utah Golf is no exception. Mountain and canyon courses are scattered throughout the state. Lake courses are found everywhere. St. George are has some of the best desert courses in the entire country (and can be played year-round). According to the Utah Golf Association, Utah has 110 courses, each more diverse than the last. Private country clubs? Yes. Expensive public courses? Yup. Cheap, beginner’s courses? Bingo. Everything in between? You betcha! Utah caters to EVERY golfer with EVERY skill set. To me, I have found paradise.

Utah Golf Guy Mission

What is the purpose of the Utah Golf Guy? Simple. To play, review and rank EVERY golf course in Utah. As previously mentioned, I love diversity. With 110 golf courses in the state, it would be a shame to not experience every single track in this beautiful state.

Each review will be extremely detailed, with the best holes, strategy and pictures. My goal is to help paint an unbiased picture to my readers of the course that they are about to play.

Why?

I am constantly looking up potential golf courses to play with little to no information online. Even lists that show the “best golf courses in Utah” limit their article to 10 courses with a small 1-2 paragraph summary of each. More often than not, these lists include the same private, expensive golf courses over and over again. What about the other 100 courses available? How do they stack up? This website will be an unbiased, one-stop resource to every golfer throughout the state.

Another goal is to allow relatively unknown courses to have a little more spotlight online. There are dozens of golf courses that no one knows anything about due to their lack of marketing resources. This website will shine a light on ALL 110 COURSES.

My last reason? Back to my personal love for golf. If I can visit, play and review every course in Utah it will be A LOT OF FUN.
