COURSE SUMMARY
Birch Creek Golf Course is a beautiful course, and comes highly recommended from the Utah Golf Guy. Like any course, early spring or late fall are the best due to the change in colors and temperature all around but especially in the Logan area.
The course layout is well balanced with elevation changes and a good mix of dogleg lefts and rights. Contains some long holes mixed with some drivable par 4’s as well.
The maintenance crew does a GREAT job on this course. The tee boxes and greens were in fantastic shape. The greens looked and rolled amazing! The fairways lifted the ball up and allowed solid and consistent divots. Being in the fall, the rough was light and a non-issue. Beautiful views of mountains in the background coupled with a beautiful and lush course made this a very enjoyable round.
The clubhouse is large and spacious (much bigger on the inside than what appears on the outside). A nice conference room and beautiful patio area overlooking the course were a nice touch.
The practice facilities were solid. Two Large practice putting greens, including a chipping area with a sand bunker to practice every short-game shot. Decent sized driving range as well. Employees were overall kind and patient, even with a VERY busy pro shop.
Signature Hole #18 Par 5 495 Yards
Utah Golf Guy score - Bogey
Clubhouse Pick: 18
The finishing hole is just fun! Huge dogleg right par 5 that plays uphill from tee to green. Plays much longer than the distance shows so be ready to club up. Green sits uphill and is extremely wide. Back right shelf on the green.
Hole offers a beautiful view of the whole valley from the green. Clubhouse sits behind the hole, and from the clubhouse you can see the complexity of #18.
Most Beautiful #5 Par 5 557 Yards
Utah Golf Guy score - Par
Clubhouse Pick: 5 or 11
Beautiful views and layout describe Birch Creek #5 to a tee. From the rolling fairways to majestic mountains in the background, this hole is a pleasure to see. Hole is a long par, dogleg left. Must hit a monster to even see the green for your 2nd shot. 2 bunkers sit on the right side of the green.
Birdie Time #3 Par 3 171 Yards
Utah Golf Guy score - Birdie
Clubhouse Pick: 13
Short but beautiful par 3 with a forced carry over a pond. Lots of space between the water and the green so little to no danger on the hole. No bunkers, flat green. Target practice for those who can hit their short irons.
Likely Bogey #4 Par 4 462 Yards
Utah Golf Guy score - Bogey
Clubhouse Pick: 4 or 16
A long and overall tough par 4. 2 fairway trees sneak in from the right side forcing you to think twice about cutting the corner. Hitting into the trees on the right side is danger and is a bogey waiting to happen if you have to layup on this already humongous par 4.
Hole plays relatively flat from tee to green. There is more room on the left than what appears from the tee box. If you can get past the grove of trees that pinch in from the right, this hole has little to no danger, just length. Slightly uphill approach. Green is extremely wide and has a false front and front side on the left.
Best Par 3 #17 214 Yards
Utah Golf Guy score - Par
Clubhouse Pick: 11 or 17
The most beautiful and entertaining shot on this golf course belongs to the #17 tee shot. Gorgeous downhill tee shot from tee to green. Green is wide and accessible. Green slopes uphill from front to back. Greenside bunkers on both sides are large and dangerous.
Best Par 4 #6 362 Yards
Utah Golf Guy score - Bogey
Clubhouse Pick: 2
The Utah Golf Guy is a sucker for forced carries over fairway gullies giving the appearance of elevated approach shots. #6 fits the criteria. Hold plays downhill from tee to green, dogleg right. The gully running across the fairway forces big hitters to layup off the tee. An opening in the middle of the gully gives you an alleyway to the green on the approach. Really fun approach shot. Green is deep and slopes gently uphill. Large greenside bunker on the left. Everything is sloped so attempt to land below the hole or a potential 3-putt looms (and happened to the UGG).
