Course Summary
As you pull into the parking lot you cannot take your eyes off the architectural wonder of the clubhouse. A beautifully modern and unique design. Breathtaking on the outside, spacious and comfortable on the inside. One of the best clubhouses in the state!
The pace of play was quite slow the first 7 holes (probably due to everyone taking in the views) but the rest of the round played much smoother and faster. The course conditions were excellent for the environment. Tiny aeration holes were seen on every green, but every putt rolled smooth and true. Fairways are in excellent shape allowing for the ball to sit up on each approach. Brown spots and dead areas were at a minimum. Sand bunkers (trust me there is a TON of them) were well maintained and played as expected.
Only one practice putting green on the course but it is ginormous. Gives plenty of room for a number of golfers with different slopes and angles. A well-maintained chipping green is next to the clubhouse with the opportunity to practice shots out of the sand. The driving range is closed while they are leveling the area and placing new sod but it is still spacious and beautiful.
BEST HOLES
Signature Hole - #4 Par 4 400 Yards

This short Par 4 is the most memorable hole on the course. From the tee box, you will see beautiful views of Heber Valley to the northeast and Mount Timpanogas to the southwest. Long hitters will be tempted to go for the green but the layout of this hole prioritizes putting the ball on the fairway. Four large bunkers line the fairway making it imperative stay out of them. The front right bunker sits 275 yards from the tips so play a long iron or a 3 wood to play short of it. Ideal tee shot is to cut the corner of the front left fairway bunker and let it run to the middle or right side of the fairway.
Two greenside bunkers protect the front left and right sides of the green respectively. The green has a false front so make sure that you hit enough club to stay on the putting surface. Green slopes severely uphill so gauge your distance accordingly. One of the most difficult greens on the course.

Most Beautiful - #7 Par 3 233 Yards

Another beautiful view from the tee box of both Heber Valley and the Wasatch Mountains. The elevated tee box sits high above green making the 233 yards play about 20 yards shorter. A small bunker protects the front left side leaving the entire right side of the green unprotected. The green is extremely deep. A ridge sits on the right side of the green and could “kick” tee shots towards the center. Green slopes gently uphill.

Birdie Time - #12 Par 3 177 Yards

Another elevated tee box for a par 3. Two large bunkers guard the right side of the green, one 50 yards short of the green and the other on the front right side. A small landing area is on the front left. Hole plays 10 yards shorter than the actual yardage. Ridges along the left side of the green will take the ball to the middle. Green is flat except for a ridge on the back right that creates a valley. Beautiful but simple par 3 hole.

Likely Bogey - #3 Par 5 588 Yards

Normally, I don’t put Par 5’s as the likely bogey hole as they typically play easier with the extra shot and generally only an extra 100 yards. This hole is the exception. From tee to fairway the shot is relatively level with a single fairway bunker sitting on the right side. About 100 yards short of the green the fairway gets extremely tight and goes to the right side. This fairway goes around a huge valley filled with rough grass. You do not want to hit in this valley as the green sits uphill and is blind. Plan to hit your final approach shot from 150 yards or make sure you carry this valley if going for the green in two. There is room to the right of the green if you need a bail out area. Do not go left as it is protected by bunkers and further left is a hill going downwards. Green is small and skinny with a ridge that runs through the middle.

Best Par 4 - #18 464 Yards

A huge elevated tee shot into a gradually sloping fairway. A 190 yard lake is on the right of the fairway and is placed just a few yards away from the fairway. Sand bunker is placed in the middle of the fairway. Perfect tee shot is to carry over the right side of this bunker. A large fairway bunker lines the right side, wedged between the fairway and the lake, re-enforcing the advice to NOT go right. A small creek from the lake runs across the front of the green. Another sand bunker protects the front left and center of the green. There is a bail out area to the right of the green. Green slopes uphill. The majestic clubhouse can be seen above the green.

Best Par 5 - #16 589 Yards

Long Par 5 that with a 190 yard carry to the fairway. Landing in your tee shot in the fairway is imperative in reaching this hole in regulation. Fairway bunkers are strategically placed on the right side of the fairway (290 yards from the tips, and 240 yards from the white tees). Almost impossible to reach in two due to the length and two enormous bunkers protecting the front side of the green but the layup is no easy shot either. There are two stretches of fairway, the main grass that goes from the beginning of the fairway all the way to the green on the right side. And, a smaller patch of fairway on the left side only runs about 70 yards and ends 60 yards from the green. Green is very wide and slopes uphill from back to front. Probably the runner-up for likely Bogey hole. This course provides tough Par 5’s.

Bonus - Food
If you are ever golfing in Midway, the Utah Golf Guy recommends eating at Lola’s Street Kitchen either before or after your round. The food is delicious, portions are enormous and the atmosphere is fantastic! We recommend the Fried chicken sandwich with lemon aioli. You will not be disappointed!
